Congratulations to Lisa Hayes and Bellamy Roth who join the BDA executive committee as full members and Paul Beaudoin who comes on board as a co-opted member at this time. First Event News - Updated |
Tuesday, 20 April 2010 |
Stunning conditions greeted competitors in the first National League event on Saturday. A light refreshing breeze and flat water rather than the normal choppy white caps towards the top end of the course provided ideal sprint conditions. The City Airport was spookily silent but the event made up for it with a festival atmosphere and booming music throughout the day. Let the organisers know what you thought about the day. Kingston Royals continued their domination of the short distance in the premier division with Raging Bulls top dogs for the standard division. Batchworth surprised with a strong entry to take the 500m premier points and ExCalibre showed ahead of premier opposition and Notts Anaconda. Check out the full results below. The league tables will be updated shortly. Updated race results for Royal Albert Dock National League event (18 KB) |

Promoting the Sport in Bristol |
Friday, 16 April 2010 |
Tao Dragons (formerly Bristol Empire Dragons) are supporting a charity event that will be taking place in the Harbour on the 13th June. They can provide 3 clubs who might not be able to make the Preston National League event that day with the opportunity to race in some demonstration races. If you will be short handed that day then the 16 paddler limit will provide a level playing field for you to showcase your ability and maybe attract some new faces to the sport. If the prospect of a free day on the water with an audience and Gable Events floats your boat then reserve your place before the end of April by emailing

The BDA Executive have endorsed the recommendations of the National League coordinaters and confirmed the moves between league divisions. Worcester Dragons and Secklow 100 will step up to the Prenier Division after their convincing performances in 2009. Colenorton and Three River Serpents will take part in the Standard Division for 2010. The new season begins in less than a week at the London Regatta Centre on Royal Albert Dock, good luck to all the competing crews and the organisers and their officials. It will be party time with Thames Dragons after the BDA AGM which follows the awards for the day. |
