The 28th Penang International Dragon boat Festival 2007 will be held on the 8th, 9th and 10th June 2007 at the Teluk Bahang Dam, Penang. If you are interested in entering a crew, please visit the PIDBF website  www.penangdragonboat.com.
The IDBF have now fixed the date for the 6th World Club Crew Championships for 1st to 3rd August 2008. Further details can also be found at the above website.

Congratulations to Team GB [06/09/06]

A big  congratulations to Team GB from the BDA Executive Committee. A staggering 13 medals - 6 gold and 7 silver were won across all three race distances. This is the best result that Team GB has ever had in its history of international competition. It really shows the commitment and dedication put in by everyone. Get those Press Releases out now and tell the world what dragon boating is all about and how good we are as a country at this 'minority sport'.

Important Reminders for the BDA National Cup [29/08/06]

We wish to remind all crews of the following:

1) All competitors racing at the National Cup must be registered with the BDA and as a minimum hold Racing Membership. Unregistered paddlers will NOT be permitted to race and if identified may jeopodise a team's final result.
2) All dragon boats will be weighed, as a minimum their hull must weigh in at 250Kg.

Bristol Empire raise £11,000.00 [22/08/06]

Now all the money has been collected Bristol Empire raised an amazing £11,000.00 for Cancer Research.
In May a group of 21 paddlers and 7 support crew took on the great task of paddling a dragon boat from London to Bristol. To complete the task in five days, this involved paddling on average for 12/13 hours a day and covering an average of 33 miles each day. Thanks to everyone who helped support the crew.
