The British Dragon Boat Racing Association is the governing body of dragon boat racing in Great Britain. Dragon boat racing is one of the fastest growing and most exciting water sports you can take part in. The BDA is responsible for all aspects of the sport from community development up to managing British teams racing abroad. It runs a National League calendar for racing crews all round the country together with the National Championships held annually at the National Water Sports Centre. |

The recent BDA Awards ceremony and birthday celebration were a great success with music and discussion into the early hours. The guests of honour, Rachel Smith and Lin Griesel, shared their experience of crossing the Atlantic in a craft even smaller than a dragonboat. Nottingham in October was a pussy cat in comparison! This was the inaugural presentation of annual awards honouring athletes, teams, coaches and movers and shakers alike.
