The British Dragon Boat Racing Association is the governing body of dragon boat racing in Great Britain. Dragon boat racing is one of the fastest growing and most exciting water sports you can take part in. The BDA is responsible for all aspects of the sport from community development up to managing British teams racing abroad. It runs a National League calendar for racing crews all round the country together with the National Championships held annually at the National Water Sports Centre. |

Well Ard? A Taste of Haggis |
|
How about a trip to the Trossachs to showcase dragon boat racing at the Highland Games on Loch Ard? The Highland Games at Loch Ard always has a cultural aspect to it from different Countries around the world and this year it will be China, and particularly Hong Kong. The President of the BDA would like one or two clubs to give a flavour of the sport north of the border while at the same time enjoying the traditional Highland Games on show over the weekend of 17-18 July.
The dragon boat demonstration has been requested for the Sunday (18 July). On the Saturday crews will be free to watch the Highland Games (well worth the trip, just for that) and to show off their boat(s) to no doubt a curious but admiring audience of many thousands of people. The organisers can provide accommodation locally (numbers to be confirmed) and maybe some funds towards transporting the boats. At least 2 boats and crews will be needed to make it a worthwhile spectacle. If you are interested then please let Mike Haslam know as soon as possible. |
