A new venue will host National League race 3 on the 20th May. Ian Elliot, Bristol Empire Dragons Chairman, is organising the event and invites all crews to enjoy West Country hospitality and challenge for their coveted trophies.
Bristol are really looking forward to putting on the event between Bristol and Bath just outside of Saltford and just off the A4. Follow the link below for the map, the closest post code is BS31 3JN which takes you to the access road by the Prospect Villa guest house. I've shared a map with you called Saltford, Bath and North East Somerset, you can view and edit this map. We have worked hard to get the event up and running and it is a new venue so hopefully it will work well. I have arranged for catering to be provided and that ranges from a tuck shop to hot food and freshly made sandwiches and teas and coffees and non alcoholic Pims. If the weather is good ice creams and cream teas are also available all at very reasonable prices. The Avon County Rowing Club are putting this on for us and are raising funds to develop the site which will also become our home in the future where we will be sharing brand new purpose built club house, gym and all facilities that we have sadly never had so please support the catering. I have secured a field opposite the boat houses and that can be freely used there will be a free ferry across the river running all day and this will make sure you can get all around the site. There are three areas designated for parking: - The trailers with boats should proceed down the track where they can be parked and boats off loaded.
- Competitors without trailers should park in the field at the top where you will be directed to park
- If this field fills up then there is additional parking on the other side of the road that will be signposted and you will be directed to that field if needs be it’s only 50 metres away.
After the event if you don’t wish to rush off there is a very pleasant pub/restaurant called the Riverside it sells good food and drink and has outside seating on the river bank. On behalf of Bristol I wish you a safe journey a great days racing and most of all enjoy yourselves. Ian Elliott Chair Bristol Empire Dragons |
