Welcome to the BDA Website
The British Dragon Boat Racing Association is the governing body of dragon boat racing in Great Britain. Dragon boat racing is one of the fastest growing and most exciting water sports you can take part in. The BDA is responsible for all aspects of the sport from community development up to managing British teams racing abroad. It runs a National League calendar for racing crews all round the country together with the National Championships held annually at the National Water Sports Centre.

GB European Championships Success

The GB squad have won medals at all levels in the 2000m race on Friday in Sabaudia Italy. The U18s took first blood with a bronze place in the mixed race and later matched it with a bronze from the open crew, many of whom had already raced earlier. The Senior Open matched their efforts with a bronze following the inaugral 2k race for the Senior Mixed team who clocked a good time in more difficult conditions in the first race of the championships.

The premier teams also tackled the race for the first time with the women taking a silver behind Russia after passing Italy coming off the first turn. The premier open results are yet to be announced but the GB team are expected to be in the medals.

Another hot and sultry day awaits the teams as they face short sharp 200m races on Saturday. More soon...
 
Updated Worcester National League Results

The detailed race results, updated with the times for the 200m minor final, for the penultimate round of the BDA National League can be downloaded from the link below. The league tables have been updated to reflect these results.

Thanks to the officials team under Sue Menzies and Anne Clancey for keeping the event on track. Worcester Dragons, as host club, would like to acknowledge the cooperation of the Worcester River Sports Association for permitting the event to interfere with their normal activities.

Royal Albert Docks National League

Dragon Boating on TV

Fresh from their victory in Worcester Dragon Boat Racing Club's Race the Dragon Regatta at the weekend, Breakspear Aspire under 18s will be appearing on TV this Saturday morning and online on CBBC throughout the week. Tune in to Sportsround on BBC 2 this Saturday 28th June at 11:45am to see the team training on Troy Lake.

Several GB Under 18 squad members have come from the ranks of Breakspear School under the guidance of Matt Williams and these helped the crew to their success and haul of trophies at the weekend.
