Steve Prescott Foundation Challenge
Monday, 17 August 2009
Monday 17th August - Prescott's Pirates begin the first day of their massive triathlon challenge with the first leg of a 799 mile cycle ride in France. The team who kicked off their challenge year racing in the BDA National League event in Liverpool will complete their cycle ride with a final leg to Windsor Castle on the 27th.
Paddle power takes over when they will be accompanied by Colenorton (no strangers to the power of vaseline) and Jonny Vegas (who has recently returned from filming the comedy show 'Benidorm') on a 24 mile dragon boat paddle to Teddington lock on the 28th. The team will set off at 7am and make 5 stops to meet friends, supporters and sponsors on the route along the Thames to Teddington. Take a look at the poster below to see the full itinerary for the cycle ride and paddle. The paddle will filmed by BBC, ITV and Sky Sports.
The final leg of the challenge is a 13 mile run to Wembley for the start of the Challenge Trophy final on the 29th.
Thanks go to Amathus for their support in preparing the team for this challenge. All the proceeds will go to cancer research via the Steve Prescott Foundation and the challenge has been dedicated in the memory of Lucy Griffiths, mother of Tony and Paul Griffiths (former GB U18 coach), who passed away on Monday 10th August.
If anyone would like to donate online please visit www.steveprescottfund.co.uk or pass to Joanne Griffiths at any of the remaining National League events.

Worcester Race Results
Wednesday, 05 August 2009

The detailed race results are available at the link below. Fun and games on the start line at times with cruisers bowling down the river out of control when faced with 3 dragon boats lining up but all the races were completed with minimal drama. The minor final of the cup was a clear win for Worcester but a split of just a tenth of second favoured Typhoon Tigers in their battle for top honours in east London.

Preston Race Results
Wednesday, 29 July 2009

Preston was a little reminiscent of Bristol 2007 for round 6 of the National League. Nevertheless Amathus were quite at home and continued their victorious march through the season with top place in both classes. Both BA and a resurgent Raging Dragons pushed them close but no cigar! Only 13 crews contended on the day with late drop outs by Prescotts Pirates and Pool of Life. The points have been added to the league tables.
