Applications are now open for management teams for the Great Britain squads 2026/27

We’re looking for experienced, passionate teams to develop, lead and support the seven Great Britain dragon boat squads through the European Championships in 2026 and the World Championships in 2027.

As a minimum, management teams should consist of a squad coach and a squad admin manager. They may also include one or more assistant coaches and/or other roles such as a strength and fitness advisor. All applicants within each prospective team should be named in the application. Only prospective coaches will be asked to attend an interview.

The squads are:

  • Juniors (Under-18s and Under-24s)
  • Premier
  • Senior A
  • Senior B
  • Senior C
  • BCP
  • Para-dragons

To apply, please send the following information to gb.manager@thebda.org.uk:

  • A covering letter saying which squad you would like to lead and explaining why you are interested
  • A CV for each person applying for coach, assistant coach and admin manager roles
    • Note that applicants for coach roles must hold a minimum Coaching Level 3 qualification, and applicants for assistant coach roles must hold a minimum Coaching Level 2 qualification.
    • The squad management team must include a coach and an admin manager. The assistant coach role and any other roles are optional.
  • Details of anyone else you would like to be part of your squad management team (for example, strength and conditioning/fitness coach), including names and a brief summary of their relevant experience
  • An overview of your coaching/leadership style and what your approach would be
  • An outline of your preferred format for trials
  • Your thoughts on training camps: how many you would run, key dates or timings you’d aim for, and any preferences or considerations regarding venues (either specific venues or factors you’d prioritise)

Key dates:

  • Application deadline: Sunday 17 August 2025.
  • Interviews: Interviews with prospective coaches will be held via Teams during w/c 25 August. Time slots will be available during the day on Mon 25 August (bank holiday) and in the evenings on Tue 26, Wed 27, and Thu 28 August.
  • Outcome: All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by Friday 12 September.
